Birlay is a global marketplace connecting recruitment agencies and educational institutions across 80+ countries — built around verified documents and clear, written payment terms. We didn't arrive here from a whiteboard. We arrived from the front line.

To survive our own operations, we built the infrastructure underneath: document verification, contracts, and cross-border payments. It started as an internal fix for our own problems.

Where we come from

Where we earned the scars.

Birlay grew out of Facultét, a DGERT-certified language and professional training school we built and ran in Portugal. For years we sat on the operator's side of student mobility — sourcing students through agencies abroad, enrolling them, and walking them through visas, consulates, and residence permits.

We saw what works and what quietly breaks: forged transcripts, commissions that never arrive, applications that vanish into inboxes, partners on the other side of the world you simply have to take on faith. So we built Teleporto — the verification, contract, and payment infrastructure underneath the business. It started as our internal answer to our own problems, and it worked too well to keep to ourselves.

We were the customer first. Everything in Birlay exists because, at some point, we needed it ourselves.
