What I do at Birlay
I lead Birlay's Romania operations from our Bucharest desk, working directly with prospective medical students from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Africa who want to study at Carol Davila, UMF Cluj, or UMF Iași. My role covers:
- CNRED file as step zero — assembling the letter of acceptance application with the Romanian Ministry of Education's recognition centre before any visa appointment
- University application support — guiding students through Carol Davila, UMF Cluj and UMF Iași admissions, including the English-medium MBBS route and the realistic fee envelope of €3,500–6,000/yr
- D/SD long-stay visa filing — assembling the long-stay student visa file at the Romanian consulate: financial proof, accommodation, and the CNRED letter as the anchor document
- Post-arrival steps — IGI residence permit (permis de ședere student) registration within the required window, and timely renewal each academic year
- Recognition planning back home — explaining how a Romanian EU medical degree is recognised in the student's home country for licensing, before they enrol
Editorial principles
All Romania-focused articles published under my byline on Birlay.com are reviewed for accuracy against current Romanian consulate requirements, CNRED recognition rules, university fee schedules, and IGI immigration procedures. Legal claims are independently verified by Birlay's Romanian reviewer — Elena Ionescu, Romanian Avocat (Bucharest Bar #7723), student visa, IGI residence permit and education-law practitioner in Bucharest.
Independent verification
Birlay's editorial policy requires all author profiles to be independently verifiable. Author bios are not generated content. If you would like to confirm credentials before relying on Romania-related guidance published under my byline, contact Birlay's editorial team at editorial@birlay.com, or verify the Romanian reviewer's credentials via the Baroul București (Bucharest Bar Association) public register (Bucharest Bar #7723).
